What is the difference between veneers and bonding?
+
Bonding is a restorative treatment to repair minor chips or gaps, typically without removing any of your natural tooth. Veneers are custom crafted porcelain shells that cover your existing tooth, a more in depth restoration used to remake your smile.
Will my veneers look natural?
+
Dr. Kevin creates custom veneers to fit your goals. They can blend in with your natural teeth or shine brighter and whiter. The design is yours to choose.
How do I know which cosmetic treatment is right for me?
+
All cosmetic treatments start with a consultation. Dr. Kevin will walk you through all of the options, consult with other specialists when necessary, and make sure you have the information you need to decide what's best for you.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
+
With good home care and regular checkups, porcelain veneers typically last many years. Longevity depends on your bite, whether you grind or clench, and how well the veneers are maintained, which is exactly why Dr. Kevin reviews your bite and airway before designing a case. Dr. Kevin will give you a specific expectation for your case at your consultation.
Do veneers damage natural teeth?
+
Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be reduced so the porcelain sits flush with your natural teeth. No prep and minimal prep veneers remove little to no enamel. At your consultation Dr. Kevin will explain exactly what your case would involve so you can weigh the tradeoffs before anything begins.
Is professional teeth whitening safe?
+
Yes, when it's supervised. Professional grade gel used under a dentist's care whitens more evenly than over the counter products, and we screen for cavities, gum recession, and sensitivity first so treatment is comfortable. Temporary sensitivity is the most common side effect and typically resolves within a few days.
Is gum recontouring permanent?
+
Laser gum recontouring reshapes the gum tissue and the result is generally long lasting. Gum health still depends on your home care and on any underlying inflammation, which Dr. Kevin evaluates before treatment.
Can dental insurance cover cosmetic dentistry?
+
Purely cosmetic treatment is usually not covered. Some treatments have a restorative or functional component, such as a crown, a case related to your bite, or an airway appliance, that may be partially covered. We'll verify your specific benefits and give you a written estimate before treatment begins, so you always know your cost in advance.
Do you offer financing?
+
Yes. We'll walk you through the payment and third party financing options available for your treatment plan at your consultation, so you can choose what fits your budget.
